Aesthetic Practitioner, NHS Worker, and Mum of Two Boys
Life is busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Balancing my role as an aesthetic practitioner, working part-time in the NHS, running a full-time aesthetics clinic, and being a mum to two energetic boys means that no two days ever look the same.
While aesthetics is something I’m incredibly passionate about, being a healthcare professional and being a mum are just as big parts of who I am. My days are often a mix of school runs, patient care, clinic preparation, after-school clubs, and trying to squeeze in for a moment for myself somewhere in between.
The Morning Rush
Most of my mornings start the same way — with my two boys. Getting them ready for the day, organising breakfasts, school bags, and making sure everyone is out of the house on time can sometimes feel like the busiest part of the day.
Once the boys are off to school, I shift into work mode.
My Work in the NHS
Alongside running my aesthetics clinic, I also work part-time in the NHS. Continuing to work within the NHS is something that’s very important to me because it keeps my clinical skills sharp and allows me to continue working within a healthcare environment.
Working in healthcare has shaped the way I approach aesthetics. Safety, patient care, and ethical practice will always be my top priorities.
Running My Aesthetics Clinic
Outside of my NHS role, I run my aesthetics clinic full-time. When I’m in clinic, my focus shifts to my aesthetics patients. I spend a lot of time on consultations because I believe this is the most important part of any treatment.
Before performing any procedure, I always assess the patient properly, review their medical history, and discuss their goals. For me, consultations are completely non-negotiable. They ensure treatments are safe, appropriate, and tailored to the individual.
Once we have a treatment plan in place, I carry out treatments such as dermal fillers with a focus on natural, balanced results.
The Part People Don’t Always See
Running a clinic also involves a lot of work behind the scenes. There are patient notes to update, appointments to organise, training to keep up with, and time spent planning treatments for returning patients.
As well as treating patients, I also manage every part of the business myself. I’m the website creator, marketing manager, finance manager, and stock manager all in one.
Aesthetic medicine is constantly evolving, so continuing education and learning is something I prioritise.
Back to Mum Mode
Once the clinic day ends, it’s straight back to mum life. Evenings are usually filled with dinnertime, homework, bedtime routines, and taking the boys to their after-school clubs and activities.
Balancing work and family life can be challenging at times, but my boys are a huge motivation for everything I do.
Why I Do It
Being able to combine my healthcare background with aesthetics is incredibly rewarding. I love helping patients feel more confident while maintaining a strong focus on safety and natural results.
At the same time, being a mum reminds me every day why hard work and balance matter.
My days may be busy and sometimes a little chaotic, but they’re filled with purpose — and that’s something I’m very grateful for.
